Duties and Responsibilities:

In this role, I will assume full responsibility for the efficient operation of all department tasks to provide exceptional products and services within brand operating standards.

I will assist to ensure that all set policies, procedures, best practices are in place and rigorously enforced.

I will perform the following relevant tasks for this role:

• Greeting guests on arrival in an efficient and friendly manner, using guest name whenever possible.  

• Answer outlet telephone courteously and efficiently as specified in department’s standards.  

• Assist in the control of outlet operational budget, ensuring that all costs are strictly controlled by maximizing profitability. 

• Promote coffee consumption and tea blends by educating guests by selling coffee, tea blends and coffee grinding and brewing equipment, accessories, and supplies. 

• Present and explain the coffee drink menu and able to explain the differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines and devices. 

• Prepare and sell coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks. 

• Learn about different brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation, and presentation techniques to improve food and beverage quality. 

• Maintain inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply, stocking coffee brewing equipment, maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for coffee bar. 

• Ensure all mis-en-place coffee recipes and drinks are correctly prepared prior to service. 

• Make every effort to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of guest’s coffee requests throughout service. 

• Ascertain guest satisfaction and ensure that all guest billing procedures are handled correctly, minimizing rebates during check out and bid guest farewell. 

• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance, grooming and hygiene.

• Knowledge and strict adherence to LQA standards.

• Perform any additional tasks given to me by Bars Manager.

Qualifications

To execute the position of Barista, I have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar or greater role in luxury hotels with proven results. I possess a minimum hospitality diploma/degree from a recognized hospitality school and more than one year’s experience in a similar operational role.

I have experience in coffee and tea brewing and know the coffee and tea production process from growth to final beverage. I know the characteristics of the different types of coffee and tea and roasting process. I possess the knowledge in Fair Trade coffee..

I will maintain a thorough understanding of Six Senses in terms of guidelines, rules and regulations, brand and operating standards, facilities and services.
